Entice the sun’s return by burning lots of candles or using fairy lights in your ritual.

Imbolc translates to in the belly or in milk. Lambing time. The awakening of spring. Some stomp or dance upon our Mother Earth to awaken her.

This festival is celebrated with Fire in mind, but remember the time of year is Aquarius.. Light... East... Air.

It’s also very near Valentines Day…but that’s another story.

The Sun challenges the darkness of winter. The Moon/Goddess is very noticed at this Sabbat, we celebrate her as the giver of life, light and abundance.

Traditionally we see her as Brigid and as part of your ceremony you can make Brigid’s bed, a cradle or basket filled with straw or wheat... (hmmm lamb straw filled cradle) anyway lay beside the bed a Phallic symbol like a wand and during the ritual move it to inside the bed to fertalize the land.

As the wheel turns the Crone of the long dark winter fades and the Virgin Goddess of spring returns. Imbolc is also a time of spring cleaning and a cleansing fire is usually lit (to keep warm) - burn your Yule tree or any left over bits of candles or used mojos.

Sweep, sweep, sweep away and renew your energies in the coming light.
