Mabon: September 21st Autumn Equinox
Days and nights are equal, it is a time of balance. Interesting that we are moving into the Libra time of year. But balance will give way to the darkness. The harvest is the main focus now. We celebrate our abundance with a feast of thanks. But there is that undertone of sadness as we recognize that the light is fading. The Goddess begins to mourn her fallen consort, that has gone to the underworld. We do not mour though for we see the God’s message of the seeds of life/rebirth in harvest. This Sabbat is the pagan thanksgiving. We are joyful and take great pleasure in the abundance of fresh foods, but we are mindful to also focus on the future ( next years harvest) Be greatful to the Ancient Ones that have provided for us for so long. Write a ritual of thanks and enjoy a feast.
